It would suck for masters to be given out again, I have to admit that a lot of my mturk income comes from closed batches and masters hits so more masters workers would dilute the available work (sorry @THFYM).

With the new payments thing, what is interesting is that amazon doesn't know my SSN but payments does, so how will they report my mturk income now? I like getting a 1099 because it makes it easy to file and no guessing.

 

But...the bright side is it also sounded like handcuffs... string of beads....and c rings so....you got that possibility going for you too

 

Wild shot in the dark? When it comes time they'll lock accounts that make 20k until you hand over your SSN? lol

 

Actually that's how paypal does it, so that is a good guess.

 

I wonder if any of the people with stolen US based accounts are pulling >20k/year.

The $20k + 200 transaction rule is only for third party payment processors though. It may be a whole new ballgame with AMT taking over their own payments.

Idk what that ballgame might be -- I haven't really looked into it because I get 1099s either way so no skin off my arse. Though if they still claim they're third party (since "wE'rE a mArKeTpLaCe aNd nOt aN eMpLoYeR") maybe nothing will change?

Though nowadays PP handles it a lot better lol
