I get what you're saying in general, and I'm not arguing with any of it from a functional perspective. However, letter-of-the-law and whatnot, I don't see how that could hold up legally.

It'd be like if Uber made you pre-purchase "rides" at a predefined amount, and then paid the driver out of those (when you decide to release them, of course). It makes them take a much more active hand in what it is that they do.

You're sort of transferring money into an intermediary account, but at the same time, you're giving up a commission to AMT, who --in turn-- deposits those funds into workers' accounts. Looking at it from a legal standpoint it'd be awful hard to call them a third party.

Nah I sent a polite email saying I completed many trials but didn't count them and I didn't have a progress bar/counter, so I can't refute their claim but asked to look over the data and tell me how far I got and to give me any feedback they could. We'll see if they answer.

I feel like this is more of a word technicality than a practical examination of how the transaction process works though.

Right but the commission is for acting as the intermediary third party, not for being any tangible part of your business dealings. They are a third party to your 1:1 transaction with a worker (as a requester) / vice-versa.

Whether or not the funds come in before or after the transaction is pretty immaterial (no matter how poorly they word it) - it's not like if AMT didn't make the req XFER the funding until approval makes a difference. At this functionality level they're an escrow service - taking the funding and holding it safe so both parties can transact with a base level of guarantee.
