    If you ever decide to reseason and start over - the lye bath worked great. You can buy 100% lye crystals at hardware stores in the plumbing section - sold as drain cleaner. I mixed a pound with around 4 or 5 gallons of water in a bucket and let it soak. Worked wonders.. It's very caustic so gotta be careful though. Wear gloves and goggles.

    As far as rust - the electrolysis thing is like magic. You basically just use a battery charger and hook negative to cast iron and positive to a scrap piece of metal. and put in a tub of sodium carbonate infused water. It sends the rust from the cast iron to the scrap metal like fucking magic. It's wild. 12 volts at 8 amps had each of them rust free one at a time in just a few hours each.

    Dude. Now I gotta try this. I've got an old not cooking worthy (scavenged from wherever the f I found it and the metal is to thin plus nicked) cast iron outside for decoration, so this is happening at some point in the next too weeks.

    @ThisPoorGuy proper use of too?

    It works for me. I'm on Firefox. I don't think there would be any difference in Chrome. Somebody else could speak better to that. I'm going to recopy it just in case I missed the closing brackets or something silly.

    I ninja-edited in my post about putting them both in a tub of water with sodium carbonate. So it's not as simple as just hooking a battery charger to each.

    But it's super easy. Look up a video on how to do it. Sodium Carbonate is washing soda. Can get it in laudnry section of any store in the world.

    It's a joke cause he got me earlier not using it right. In my defense, I've gotten somewhat reliant on those gray and red squiggly lines below words. :emoji_sweat_smile: Maybe a good time to become less reliant again.
