Mine was on the cheap end of kitchen aids. It is a work horse though. It can make batch after batch of divinity and lemme tell ya...if it can handle that stuff...it can handle anything. I've made it earn its keep. I love my stand mixer.

 

It also sits on top of my refrigerator.

Me, being short, am always THISCLOSE to having it crush my skull as I wrestle it down from there. It's stunningly heavy.

 

i've been around enough people. like 60% of them are just sitting there looking pretty. mine is hiding because kids dont let you do anything anymore

 

I converted over the first day. Today I went back and everything was the new system but I had to go to Amazon Payments and put enter how much money I wanted to transfer to my bank. Did you do that too? I selected to transfer every 3 days.

The thing that worries me is this:

 

The old ones are THE BEST! Those suckers are sturdy!

The newer ones have cheaper gears/motors but they are pretty easy to fix/replace/maintain if you use it enough to care hah. I have a backup motor sitting in my cabinet because I tend to work my poor mixer to death and I know that motor is gonna crap out on me soon.

I've also been saying that for a solid year, so I'm impressed it's still hanging in there just fine!

 

Mine is hiding because apparently since I started working two jobs I don't have a life and have forgotten I even have a kitchen aid and bread maker and waffle iron.

Dat's it. I'm redoing my kitchen. Some stuff is rotating out to the garage. I have like six skillets in my kitchen. I don't need ALL of those in there. or the seven pie pans (all sizes!) or the six loaf pans (sizes!) or the seven casserole dishes (again, sizes!) I need to move stuff to where I can easily get to it and use it. And stuff I don't use as much out to the garage pantry.
