Good Morning! Officially starting to panic...The initiated my direct deposit on the 20th and it still isn't in my bank account! I am not liking this new system.

 

Has your bank actually received deposits for weekend transfers before?

 

It is a new bank account that I opened through discover just to hold all my turk money.

 

I wouldn't panic till 8 am EST. If by then it has not shown up in your bank, I would call your bank first to see if they have the deposit and just haven't credited it yet.

 

I will have to do that. Thank you. The whole thing makes me nervous until I know that it works properly.

This definitely sounds like good advice, so please don't worry too much!
The way things have always worked for me is that some point Thursday late afternoon is the last time I can expect to make a deposit and see it in my bank account on Friday morning. After that, the way most banks work, you're not going to see any more money in your bank account until their official posting time in whatever official time zone they're in. I'm very nervous about this new thing, too. But I think this is mostly a banking thing that will resolve itself a little later today. ( :
