It's really weird to see so much money building up in Earnings and to NOT transfer it to my payments account, after so many years of knowing "don't leave it in your mturk account in case you get suspended!"

And by "so much money" it is way less than some of you make in a day, but that's several days earnings for me. I don't want to transfer every 3 days because, frankly, I won't keep track of that very well, lol!

Just. Weird to see it there in my dashboard and not transfer it out of there like I'm used to doing.

 

Did NOT know this was a thing...how common is this!?

 

If I didn't quit drinking 3 years ago and was still a drunk.....this would be very problematic for me

Not super common.

But when it's happened if someone has money in their mturk account it can get stuck there. I suppose it can be stuck in payments, too.

 

Well it's a good thing you stopped drinking then! I bet lots of things are less problematic now!

(and on the flip side, more problematic. I don't drink much. Basically "stopped" two years ago myself. Feared I was using it as a crutch too often and didn't want to tip the scales into it being a real problem and not being able to drink at all, so I don't drink unless I'm with other people, and then I don't drink much. And yep, more things are problematic now when I can't go home and have two glasses of wine to take the edge off, lol!)

 

Yeah everything is better now. Alcohol is liquid evil when you can't control it.

Agreed. I had a few, "Wow, did I really drink that much?" moments. Been around many alcoholics in my life, growing up, as an adult, etc., so that freaked me out that I was falling into the "can't control it" side of drinking.

So I basically stopped.

Freaked a few people out in my life who thought I had a problem that I'd hidden and they never saw (functional alcoholism) but I assured them nope, I'm just being cautious.

Also, drinking makes me want to smoke. And if I don't drink, I don't (often) want to smoke, so that's another HUGE reason to not drink. I can fight off the urge for a cigarette if I'm not drinking. Not so much if I am drinking.

Of course, now I really want a smoke.
