When I saw this originally on SNL, I thought the first 'dipping of the toe' was one of the funniest television moments ever.

There seems to be a lot of that going around. I sent a rather sternly written email to an IRB earlier today about an errant rejection I recently received and heard back from them within a couple of hours. They told me they would be back with me on Tuesday as they needed time to get hold of the student.

Generally speaking, I give a requester two chances to make a correction on an errant rejection. At that point, if I find out they have done a 1) mass rejection, and 2) failed to reverse those rejections wrongly then a message goes to the IRB explain the situation and asking that they encouraged their student to make things right. Normally this gets the rejection done quite quickly even when requesters claim they can't figure out how to do it after we have sent them the instructions how.

I am at the "Ye have not because ye ask not." Stage with the IRB. The worst thing they can say is there's nothing they can do but more than likely rejection and any money should be coming.
