I like the John Frieda shampoo and conditioner, then the Paul Mitchell. Took me a long time to find the perfect combination. But this really works for me.

 

I'm kind of disappointed that I can't even find a hint of a gif or photo of Eddie Murphy in an old SNL playing a rather 'flamboyant' hairdresser.
At one point someone mentions Crystal Gayle, and he just about went into spasms, saying "Ooooooh! She's got a head o' hair!!!"

My issue that slowing my hair growth is my abuse of my hair. I'm desperate to find a shampoo/conditioner that's both cheap but doesn't kill my hair that my husband can use too. I also need to stop getting it caught in every door, zipper, sitting down, cabinets, the fridge, EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING (including Beans) eats my hair if it can.
We were joking about it but a couple people were clearly gawking at the length in line at the grocery store the other day. I'm assuming people are thinking I'm a religious nut or something at this point. I make sure to keep the ends trimmed and keep my hair clean so I don't look like I'm homeless. I've even had old people come straight up to me and pet my hair and tell me to keep my long hair it looks nice on me.

 

I wear mine in the "bun" now too...lol- I hate my hair in my face. Spent 20 years in Atlanta going to expensive salons and my hair always looked awesome, but hairdressers always want to cut your hair- I kept mine a little below shoulders and always did a "floor check" to make sure she/he wasn't cutting too much off. But now I'm older and in Fla. and can't afford 200.00 for a month for a hairdresser, plus Fla. hairdressers suck anyway, so growing it out- down to my butt first time in my life and I love it.

 

Same here: hair EVERYWHERE!!! And now it's to the point where I think I have a "hair on me" so I go to pick it off...and it's attached to my head!!!! I love the "pet my hair" comment - I haven't had that but I've had the gawkers and the constant comments and questions about my hair.

But, does the bun hurt? At home, I almost always have my hair up in a "messy bun" or something but it aches all the time. If it's down, it doesn't hurt, but when I put it up it becomes so uncomfortable. Any tricks you've found for that?

Honestly, Head and Shoulders. It's not just for dandruff or whatever. My hair is a jerk (thin, very long, straight as a board, gets greasy fast + parts are bleached/dyed), and H&S makes it feel healthier, and it's inexpensive and the scent isn't gendered in any way.
