I'm not sure if I related this story yet, but when we were in Glendale, my girlfriend was chatting up some dudes and liked one of them, so I was being the wing woman...at one point, the guy she's flirting with offers me a drink and I say no thanks, cause I'm staying sober that night. Well, he later comes over with a drink for me & I politely reject it because I literally had already said no...dude gets irritated. Whatever, I brush it off. Guy then tries to give me another drink like 30 minutes later...an already open drink (lol, so double no) and I yet again reject it. He gets mad and I'm now getting annoyed. Girl comes by with jello shots, and he says he wants 4.

me: I hope that's because you want to drink 4 jell-o shots, bro.

Helping people feels good. Such a very mild thing - but it still makes you want to go home and be like - "i helped someone get beans today, it was awesome as hell." - while whoever you tell proceeds to not give a shit whatsoever. Either way, you're happy that this seemingly unimportant and minor thing provides such a welcoming change to a regular ass everyday trip to get hotpockets and string cheese.

Maybe it doesn't help that I look like I live in a cave, but I've had a few awkward experiences just trying to offer help

I always forget that there's some very important rules for dealing with people

 

A few months ago, an old lady pulled up to the gas station in the pump next to me. She asked me if I knew where she could go to pump air into her tire, and I pointed literally 20 feet to her right where the big silver pump was. It was the highlight of my year tbh.

 

As a child sized person, we appreciate it!
