01/13 - Meatball Monday

I have to say that this new way of getting paid by Mturk will cause me to spend way less money on Amazon.

Before, when it was just in my payments account and I used that to pay for Amazon purchases it was like, "Oh, this stuff is free. It's not money at all!"

Now that it hits my bank account, and I have to use a credit card to buy on Amazon, then pay that cc off...it's real money. And I totally hesitate to buy things now that I would have easily purchased before.

So, good for my bottom line.

Not so good for Amazon's (or they don't care, not like my purchases will affect their bottom line in the least.)

 

They are going to make that money back off the interest that they'll collect from our money sitting in their accounts... they still profit off us and now they don't have to worry about customer service or returns.

They'll make less off of me as it's not sitting there as long as it used to before they forced me to move it out weekly. I would often "save" for big purchases by keeping it in payments. Now, it sits in my account and earns interest longer.

My CC is tied to my mortgage. All my cash back goes to pay down my principle. So, hopefully, nets in a larger savings as I'm not charged mortgage interest on that amount! (I use the CC to pay for all sorts of things just for this reason then pay it off every month, I'll take that free money, thanks!)
