    Yeah, she's not really happy about it either. However given the other option (IE going deaf, not being able to work outside the house, not being able to drive) bland food seems the better of the two options.

    I think our doctors have us on opposite diets:emoji_laughing:

    But like, for real, it might sound super fun to have a fiber/roughage/certain types of solids restricted diet cause you can have all the sugar, potatoes, and cheese you want while avoiding things like veggies and salad... until you barf & pass out cause you looked at half a carrot the wrong way...then you exist on blended soup and ginger ale for the next week and desperately try to avoid iv feeding.

    Yep! We can use that all we want.

    She got diagnosed with meniere's. It was causing her vertigo, not being able to eat (but still gaining weight) and she's losing hearing.

    Come to find out a lot of the salt/sugars etc can cause water retention thus trigger a vertigo attack. It's so bad that the doctor literally told her about AND recommended she consider filing for disability. The doctors caught this so late because her GP is trash that shes lost the ability to hear certain tones already. If I talk normally she has trouble hearing me because I guess how deep my voice is.

    So if keeping her happy and able to hear only requires us to change diets I'm going to go for it...the bad part is the doctor said there still isn't a 100% certainty that she won't lose complete hearing.
