    That makes no sense though. Brown sugar, is just white sugar (sugarcane plant) not refined, it still has the molasses in it.
    Or they refined the white sugar (sugarcane plant) a tad, to remove the natural molasses and then add molasses back into it.

    I guess I should have worded that a bit different. The doctor said if we needed sugar to use brown sugar.

    I mean he said basically cut out as much as possible...but let's be realistic - it's going to be REALLY hard.

    another fun fact: if you're vegan, you need to get special brown sugar cause they also often use bone char in thr process of making it! They have vegan brands of brown sugar for this reason...and it means I end up using maple or honey when I'm baking for vegans/vegetarians because vegan brown sugar is like 6 bucks and screwwwwww that!

    Yep! We were vegan for a year (doctor's recommendation...basically an experiment because she was out of ideas) and we learned allll about that.

    I also learned they used fish bladders in beer processing and was super upset... so much so that I went on an enlightened quest to find vegan beer.

    The best was when I learned they use crushed beetle shells in candy (like jelly beans)

    I really wanted those jelly beans and I ended up ordering vegan ones from amazon

    This (kinda) happened to my mom. They thought she had meniere's because she kept getting hideous attacks of vertigo. We all had to do The Diet for FOUR years until the attacks just stopped. The doc said it was menopause-related and when she finished going through it, the vertigo stopped too. But anyway, I feel for you. That is truly an act of love.
