Hi all,

Just a quick note on the requestor Reef Diver.

They have HITs which ask you to categorise photographs of coral reef. Each photograph has a few circled areas which you need to identify. You'd typically choose if it was soft coral, hard coral, sand, other etc etc.

They issued a qual around a week ago which wasn't too difficult to pass. Since then they've posted a few batches many of which i've worked, initially with almost immediate accepts. Today I've logged in and found some (3) rejections. I note that a few others have had them too.

I jumped on this task as I'm a scuba diving instructor who has spent 100's of hours looking at scenery like this, I have over 1000 dives. So, without wanting to sound high and mighty, if I'm getting rejections doing this I feel like many others will absolutely get some.

They provide a help guide but it's got about 4 or 5 examples of hard coral, the same for soft coral. There are hundreds of types of coral and your chances of being able to accurately identify what they are asking you to is slim, especially as the quality of picture isn't great.

I've emailed the requestor and will report back with any info I can get.

All 3 of mine were just approved lol. And I had no idea what the actual frick I was doing. This just shows you that having knowledge and actually putting in effort is overrated.
