Ugh, another ambiguous task.

I've never been quick to answer ambiguous questions. They tend to slow me down. I'm wasting valuable minutes while two lobes of my brain quarrel about rational arguments for different answers. (It's a qual test, where "there are no wrong answers" doesn't apply. From the qual requester's POV, an answer is either right or wrong. From my POV there's some ambiguity.)

The instructions and examples are just about as clear as possible, but I wouldn't expect even the clearest instructions to hand-hold me through every judgment in an ambiguous task.

Sometimes the fault isn't ambiguity; sometimes it's just me and my low IQ. But sometimes there's a definite ambiguity (when perfectly rational arguments can be made for different answers), and choosing the "right" answer (the only one the requester considers correct) can be like rolling dice.

To illustrate the problem hypothetically — imagine if two requesters were to post exactly the same task. For an arguably ambiguous question, where perfectly rational arguments can be made for bubbles #3 & #4, one requester might expect us to click #3 while the other requester might expect #4. When rational arguments can be made for two or three different responses, I have no way to be sure which one this requester considers correct. I don't like to roll dice.

Ambiguity is a part of life.
It just happens to be one of the parts that I dislike. (-;

I wonder if Will Arnett had to do that show as part of his Lego Movie contract.
