While I can sympathize with being a broke college student, (I was once a broke college student and had to pay for everything the scholarship didn't cover including exorbitant on campus housing, parking, internet, daily transport and other necessities like you know food - ramen, broccoli and frozen chicken breasts were the staples.)

So I know that college is expensive and if your going for a graduate degree you sometimes have to personally pay the price of admission or at least find a source of funding other than exploitation.

As always in cases like this, if you think the pay is unethical, just don't do the hit. The requester will get what he pays for (garbage tier results) and they get their degree based off that still, probably. Also, time estimates usually aren't accurate, though the hit likely didn't take the full 30 minutes, it was likely still underpaid.
