I spent high school on a farm. Where I would find pigs' eyeballs on the lawn after the piggies were killed.

we had awesome visuals at breakfast some days.

Not me. I stopped eating meat due to knowing all of our animals. And they killed my rabbits and gave me a foot as a keychain like that was supposed to make me feel better!

update: I eat meat again, but stopped for about 17 years due to my buddies ending up on our dinner table.

 

When my aunt was younger, she had a baby chick. She was too young to connect baby chick = eventually grown hen = it's going in the pot.

Can only find info on canned, not fresh. It's allowed by the FDA in the rat-poop-per-hotdog style ratio, so probably there yeah. Canned mushrooms suck tho. I feel like we'd see them in fresh mushrooms, right? Right??

No big deal.

 

Heating up my spicy pinto bean, caramelized onion and cheese enchiladas I prepped yesterday. After doing so many C-SATs nothing keeps me from dinner.

 

So, there's gonna be /stuff/ in your food stuffs. It's just the way of it. That's why we wash food before we eat it.

 

My parents bought "drop calves" and we had to bottle feed them. They both got pneumonia so we had to save their lives, too. I got up at like 4:30 am to bottle feed cute baby calves. And I taught them to drink from buckets (because they were stupid and could not figure it out on their own and just kept wanting the bottle).

Then after all that investment of love and nurturing my parents killed them for food.

I was out. No. No way. I can't eat meat after I've gazed lovingly into its eyes and petted it.

(Unless it's a matter of survival, then yeah, I will, but Safeway was just down the street so we had options.)
