Yeah, 5 weeks of supplies is ridiculous. It isn't like we're living through a pandemic (in the US at least.) I could understand having supplies stocked up in case of emergencies when you're in a rural area that's at least at some risk of being hit by a natural disaster, but prepping for the most part is kinda silly.

People all rush out to buy TP and loot the stores every time a storm or blizzard hits so definitely have some back-up TP and water. But did go to grocery store after last weeks blizzard and it looked like the place had been robbed.

That's Italy. Italy has 400+ confirmed cases. Italy is fucked, right now. We're in the US. There have only be 60 cases. The US is also a fucking first world country. Like, chill, dude, it's not going to get Italy/China bad.

 

Actually we do! We do a lot of refurbishing used furniture and we use masks when we sand things or paint things or use spray primers.

No, I doubt it will get that bad but don't be shocked if things get a bit disrupted for a while.

 

I do have supplies in case of an earthquake. Usually have some water put by and I have a camp stove and a few other things. When I lived in SF I had WAY MORE stocked up but that kinda makes sense there.

But I only had like 7 days stocked. Never five weeks!!!!!

It is funny that this week I loaded up my Target card with toilet paper and paper towels and laundry detergent, etc. Bad timing, but it's totally because I ran out of all of it at the exact same time (well, almost out, will be out by end of next week). I look like I'm prepping and I am...but just for daily life so I don't have to go to Target again for another two months!

 

I could totally eat out of my pantry for a couple weeks if I had to, but it's just me, so that's easier. I went to the store today and accidentally bought a couple houseplants. So. I'm doing really well at stockpiling important things. I just needed some rice. And I forgot the rice. Got a ton of strawberries though.
