i got masters after taking time off of turking and never doing any of those things. i only ever did the porn tagging hits and surveys and transcription. i personally think it's demographics, fwiw. or just simply:

 

The probability that a certain requester or batch is responsible for folks getting masters is about as high as the probability that I'm not going to eat this burrito I'm currently microwaving.

 

One of them was Hotels for sure. I remember doing random ones that were dropping in early 2017 because of what people believed about masters back then.
