That's basically the business model of Costco. We're just wondering who's buying all that stuff in bulk with a cart full of stuff that someone is wondering who buy all that stuff in bulk.

 

No one sees the landfills it goes into, or just don't think about the waste/environment


What do you think things would be like if all your trash was piled into your front yard for everyone to see before it got picked up once a month?

 

I'm sure, like I said I don't buy bottled water, but to be fair we all make a lot of trash.

 

Bottled water industry makes too much profit selling people plastic bottles to allow people to think about that.

The trash epidemic is a serious issue that I don't have an answer for to be honest with, half the shit people think is recycling isn't.

 

While it's true that we all produce trash, there's absolutely zero reason to use this as an excuse to not be as environmentally conscientious as feasible. If not for yourself, think of your children. Think of their children's children. Do you want them to inherit a literal trash planet? Everyone should do their part, it sets an example for others. If every "oh it doesn't actually make a difference" person would actually put in effort to make a difference, it adds up.

 

Whoa I didn't mean it that way, I pay extra to have recycling service with my trash service.

 

That wasn't meant at you specifically, but I'll take whatever platform I can get to soapbox and hopefully change at least one person's mind. Maybe that person will also change a friend's mind and so on like some sort of pyramid scheme that actually works.

 

The best comment about this whole thing was one I saw earlier where this dude said...

I always thought everyone loved their grandparents, then a few sporting events were cancelled.

It was kind of rough. My 'comment' was that half the number of rounds would easily have been more than adequate for the study.

 

I've hated that I've become that preachy hippie/vegan friend. It's just hard to stand idly by and watch people destroy the future without a second thought.

 

People get arrested and sent to jail for licking food in supermarkets

 

You know what the best part of streaming and digital media is? Now everyone can watch/buy movies and games etc without making any trash.

 

I try not to be too overtly preachy because if you're pushy that just makes people spiteful because I'm totally not that way myself, but yeah, it's a serious issue people should be thinking about, especially if they ever plan on having kids.
