Oh, I get my flu shot, keep hand sanitizer on me at all times, wash my hands until they're dry and cracked, and stay home should I get flu-like symptoms. I take it seriously, especially because I care for my older parents. But this reaction seems far too over the top--I feel like it's hurting way more than it's helping. It's scaring my friend's children, who are terrified their whole family is going to die from this based on what they're hearing at school.

It's because the government and the media are giving out so many mixed signals, people don't know what the fuck to do so they just try their best in their own misguided way.

 

It's absolutely not over the top and if anything it's not being taken seriously enough in the US.

The - it's no big deal, or it's like the flu line of thinking is dangerous IMO.

I'd love it if it were a big nothing burger, but the only way it's foing to be a nothing burger is if it's taken seriously by everyone as a whole.

i wouldnt call you right or wrong. i get where you're coming from. the people panic buying lysol wipes and what not. for many people, they never cared before. it's not like germs and bacteria are a new thing. they should have been caring a long time ago too
