I was grinching today about all the garbo on the interwebs, and said maybe I should start reading some of the great books as a distraction

Okay now you have my full attention! There is a reason there are classics, because they are timeless. Great Gatsby will always be one of my first loves. You can't go wrong with One Cuckcoos Nest, To Kill a Mocking Bird, Lolita (if you can stomach it), Slaughter House Five, Metamorphsis, The Little Prince, Stardust, The Sunset Limited (this one might be my absolute love), Enders Game (though don't buy it new), Handmaidens Tale, Roadside Picnic, Do Androids dream of eletric sleep, Everything is Illuminated, these are off the the top of my head.

I am sure you've read a few, but hopefully something new in there.

I have a friend who constantly insists the Oregon Trail would be awesome and that he would be great at it/it wasn’t very hard in the first place.
