I used to but then I realized at some point he was really hurt when I did that. Over the last year or so he's become really sensitive about things that never bothered him before. I'm trying to respect the awkward teen years and be kind about things. My parents were the opposite. If they knew something embarrassed me they did it even more and man were my teenage years nothing but humiliation.

When he was younger he thought it was funny if I told him he stank and go shower, now he practically cries or gets pissed and stomps off.

    Love teen years. Love them.

I don't have a kid so it's just throwing two cents into the wind but Tracy said exactly what I was going to. It's natural but stinky so he shouldn't feel to bad about having to start wearing it. All it took for me to go put it on was my mom just handing it to me. No words, just a tap on the shoulder to get attention and discreetly handing it to me. It took my step brother being yelled at by me that he stinks and should go put on some deodorant before he realized that meant like EVERY day.

We did have that issue at first, but this brand does work...makes it through his PE class and he's not stinking up my car when I (used to) pick him up from school.

In this case, I think he's just not applying it because he's not leaving the house.

But yeah, finding the one that worked was some fun trial and error!

RJ can't use the cheap speedstick. It works, but it makes his arm pits swell up! So we have to buy him some men's degree.

And speedstick is what finally worked for the kid! I didn't think it would being so cheap but it works with his chemistry I guess? Thank goodness. When he does use it he applies every day and if we go somewhere at night or to his piano lessons where he's trapped in a small room with another human he re-applies so he can go through it fast.

throw in some hockey equipment much of which can't be washed but only aired out and you will have entered my personal hell for the last decade (3 hockey player). The stench coming from my back seat and trunk on hockey night could have been declared a bio hazard in most countries

Speed stick used to work great for me and then all of a sudden either they changed the ingredients in it or I developed an allergy. I use Arm and Hammer unscented now and it's great. I don't want to smell like a pine forest or whatever, I just want to be clean and inoffensive.

    Oh ugh. I feel ya.

Not entirely the same but one time Kiddo had his birthday at an outdoor laser tag place. Hard playing on a huge course in late May. I had to give my kid and three other teenage boys a ride home.

OMG. That is the worst smell I've every experienced. FOUR teenage boys who had been sweating for over two hours in my car. I Febreezed the hell out of it after we got home, lol.

I'll have to try that too. I don't want him to be stuck with only one kind. Thanks for the info!

I might try that, too. I use their "Free" laundry detergent and love it. I'm not allergic to it and it takes all the offensive stinks out of the clothes.

So that means their deodorant probably works, too.

My oldest girl was a heptathalete so would get quite fragrant. She still works out like crazy but she, too, has always been pretty good and cleaning herself up and wanting to smell good.
