Dammit, I both love and hate watching Deep Purple live at the California Jam.

Love it because it's Deep Purple with Lord, Paice, and Blackmore at their best, and a young, raw, but talented diamond-in-the-rough David Coverdale. Jon Lord, in particular, goes off the deep end with some of his experimental synth work, just brilliant. What a loss.

And then I hate it because Glenn Hughes screeching his way through the backing vocals is cringe inducing at best and makes some parts downright unlistenable. Horrible.
