I would bet you are going to be one of the few that jumped through the hoops to get it.

 

I've been trying to get to this point for awhile but it is worth it. I'll be able to get the weekly max income before unemployment cutoff in a day or two and then actually close all my work stuff for the rest of the week. It is the vacation that I've wanted for a long time.

Btw we also are getting sick paid days as self employed people as tax credits.

As far as jumping through hoops... California's for gig workers or people in general is pretty damn easy to go through but mine was only hard (and required phone calls) because I live out of state now. I am however a recent enough resident and even have a California ID so I qualify for this route.

Shit even my dad is getting unemployment even if his M-F is still full time with normal hours because his weekend job as a lifeguard isn't happening because the beaches are closed.
