If you don't have a biscuit cutter, just cutting them up into squares (pastry cutter or sharp knife or pizza cutter all work great!) will work better (and sometimes do that when I'm feeling lazy) since it won't crush the layers like pressing down really hard and doing an accidental twisty motion.

Girl, I feel that in my soul. So many times I've stopped and thought, "OH DUHHHH!" in the middle of a recipe I've made 1000 times. I swear the human mind likes to complicate things sometimes

If you wanna have a good laugh at me, for my entire life up until 6 months ago-ish, instead of taring things I'm measuring out between ingredients (into the same bowl), I was just adding it all up in my head. I would tare between containers cause duh, gotta zero my scale out, and then one day my brain was like, "Here's an idea, you could just zero the scale out between the flour and sugar."

 

Anyone here use vacuum storage bags and have some recommendations?
