She knew I wouldn't be able to defend myself very well today after my surgery yesterday. She was tryin to help a sister out by taking the brunt of your insults.

So, I'm actually already home. I had a terrible experience with night shift last night and told them I wanted to be discharged by shift change tonight. The doctor said I was doing extremely well so I could go. This may be TMI but...y'all know me. HAHA. When I had RJ almost 11 years ago, the c-section got infected and my stomach turned black and was dying. I had to have several surgeries and wear a wound vac for months. That all in turn caused the problems I have been having now. My uterus had completely adhered to my abdominal wall with scar tissue, and there were scar tissue around all my other parts as well. Thus, the reason for the total hysterectomy and removal of tubes and ovaries. They had to actually cut me open because of all the scar tissue instead of doing it laparoscopically, so recovery is going to be a bear. But...she said any scar tissue that grows back should not adhere any other organs to anything it's not supposed to be attached to. I want to thank everyone for their love, thoughts and prayers! I'm glad to finally have it over and done with!!

Glad you're home now and hopefully will be on the mend quickly. You're a trooper for wanting to come home the next day.

I was in the hospital for a week after mine (trying to kick the infection that caused me to lose it in the first place) and it was rough till the day I left, when I started having trouble falling asleep in the hospital I knew it was time to come home.

I just tried, and can report back that it's actually impossible to turn a lightbulb off like that.

 

Well the night shift was TERRIBLE. The doctor had ordered a morphine shot every hour and a shot of delaudid every two hours. Well the nurse kept getting "too busy" to give me my pain meds so I laid there for 3 hours sobbing in pain before the charge nurse finally came in. Plus, they messed up and put my IV in the wrong hand (I have nerve damage in my right) and I begged them to move it to my other one and again, I waited for 3 hours before they moved it over. All the while they were pumping fluids through my hand making it swell larger and larger and bruise even more. I was not a happy camper. I wasn't going to go through that even one more night. I can hurt here at home just as easily as I can there. At least here I have my husband and brother that will actually take care of me. HA.

Nurses can make or break it for your stay. I was in the hospital for 19 days between delivering my third and the infection and hysterectomy. Some nurses were great and others it was like, please don't get near me again. I had one nurse (in the ICU) put the IV right on my wrist bone, I was glad when the four days was up and it got switched.

Yeah, the day shift was great! Night shift not so much. I can definitely understand your pain. I'm guessing this woman had a lot on her mind, or going on in her life because she had a black eye.
