05/27 - Walking Wednesday

Not a chance. I would have had better luck staying under my bridge where I was, because of the collaboration between the homeless shelter's Outreach program and citywide clinic. I wasn't in KC, and I'll be damned if I ask my friend and his wife who DO live in KC to put me up on an off-chance things work out. They're stressed enough, with his work dealing with medical database stuff and her being a doctor. I don't want to give too much info, but they're both very high up in their positions. He deals with the entire state's medical insurance database and billing, and she's a doctor. Now's not the time to go all "Can I intrude?" There's no real analogy to compare to, to how absolutely I couldn't go back to KS or intrude in their house in KC

If my general "Okay, you're poor" paperwork finally comes through, I might be able to get some leverage, since I'm still in the same state as UMKC and the original surgeon could pull strings. But I have to wait on paperwork. And I'm busy doing other stuff, just rebuilding in general. Past taxes from a state that says I owe $600 from 2012 because the envelope with my taxes was ripped and missing w-2's and they're only just now notifying me (despite living with my ex for 3 years after that, so no address change) that I owe taxes on 5 state's income for the 2 days I worked in their state as a non-resident.

I need to crash. TL;DR it's paperwork, all the way down. Most of which is in the works.

Pro-tip: If you ever work in more than 1 state, go ahead and pay the $50 to a tax preparer. You'll spend more than that on beer/booze/Ibuprofen later.

Trying to wake up

 

Fuck beans. I closed my main window after going out for a last cigarette of the night/morning, and in the 5 minutes I was outside, PC caught a $2 10 minute HIT. I'm already at my daily goal and haven't even slept yet.

 

And just got an email for a followup closed-qual for $2.50. FML. I need sleep.

 

Re: Taxes - that sucks. Also the pro-tip is super valid.

Honestly if I was able to get to KC I would do it. I know you don't want to be a bother and your friends lives are really hectic - but if I am understanding correctly you have a tumor on your eye that needs to go (sooner rather than later) and I'm guessing your friends would want to help?

If your paperwork comes through than that's good too - (and I get you have to do day to day life).....but even with ripped envelopes and all that - I'm hoping that you keep pursuing the doctors that will get you the CT scan you need and move things forward towards the ultimate goal of getting that tumor out of there.

Mostly it's all a waiting game. I spent Dec. and Jan. readjusting from 2 1/2 years living under a bridge (which I still kinda miss, if only for the simplicity and the ground was contoured to me being a left-side sleeper) and doing stuff like mapping out the breaker boxes, doing electrical for the shop, small stuff. Then it finally got somewhat cold here and I got into Turking.and getting caught up on stuff I didn't have time for for almost 3 years.

I lived a set schedule for those 3 years and it was a big adjustment. Work when I wanted to, slept when I wanted to, buses ran every hour if I needed to go somewhere. I'm kinda miffed that I've gotten soft, not carrying 60 lbs on my back every day.
