Central air? You may just have a bad start and/or run capacitor blown out from freezing over the winter. They're like $30 each. I fixed mine in Kansas for $50 a few years back. The central unit will turn on and blow air just fine, for forever, but with the outside unit not turning on, it won't pump coolant.

Wish I'd known before you called, because I could have talked you through troubleshooting it.

Outside unit is working. It's on. Air comes out but not cold enough to cool the house down so it constantly runs. Outside line occasionally freezes. It's too late now but I def will let you know what it was.

I got that jackass Leif again. I am so tired of his shit.

 

He was here yesterday for me. I bought a ton of flowers from him to boost the ratings. I was surprised Redd was there again since everyone says he doesn't show up very often.

He went thru what I call his "blue period" where he claimed he didn't want to design planes/bikes/etc anymore, he just wanted to design hvacs, and then him and the ee at the airport decided they would design and install the entire new hvac system themselves, which meant I also had to because of course

That could be low coolant, or bad pump. The fan will run no matter what because that's tied into the HVAC board when the AC calls for power. Low coolant you would be getting too warm in the evaporator and turning gaseous. A bad pump could pump, but slow enough to freeze condensation on the radiator.

Since it's freezing, it's just one of two things, unless there's a leak. If they say the coolant is low, and you have the money, have them test for leaks. It's pretty straightforward: a slight recharge with a fluorescent coolant and a blacklight.

Just don't get screwed over by a minimum-wage tech for something you can do yourself.
