Hahaha - I have a motion sensor trashcan too. It is definitely NOT smart but I like that if my hands are dirty while cooking I can just wave my arm over and drop stuff in without touching the lid. It takes a zillion D batteries though, and every time they run out I still wave my hands over it like a frantic magician lol

I knew I had had it too long when I tried to throw something away at a friends house and just kept flapping my fingers over the top of their normal garbage can.

Yasssss, it's perfect when I'm cooking. The pedal type was just too easy for the four legged monsters to open!

I'll say, I think I've only been thru two sets of batteries in over 2 years? For the magic wizard power to make my garbage can flop open, I'll take it!

I have waited a bit too long for the trashcan to open at a friend's house before, just holding my hands over it...waiting. I also once hurled a french fry into a friend's wall because I forgot my dog wouldn't jump out of the air to catch it, so my brain is obviously slow on the uptake.
