So I had to google this to verify what Grandma told me a bazillion and a half years ago when we used to pick blackberries by the Delta and I was afraid of being poisoned...

"Blackberries have no poisonous look-alikes; in fact, the only close look-alike is the wild black raspberry, which is smaller, sweeter, and hollow, like a thimble, when you pick it. Blackberries are larger and the core of the fruit is solid when you pick it."

Grandma was right. If it looks like a blackberry and tastes like a blackberry, it's a blackberry.

Been noticing the dumpster is filling up fast today.

 

Lies, everyone knows in the post-Christmas into Corona slowdown it's impossible to make more than $10 on mturk. Especially now that school's out. There's just no work to be had whatsoever, anyone who's getting by is either lying or on unemployment.

 

I have been DYING to take a berry off this bush for weeks now. I have 5 different HUGE bushes of this on the yard and there are so many unripe berries that I just had to know if we could eat them. I'm so excited because this means when I head out there and see that they are ripe I can just grab and eat them/save them!

 

Time to bake a pie and make some jam and whatever else you do with blackberries.

Man, I'm so bumed out right now. I'm waiting for the next big bloom on our honeysuckle shrubs because I really wanna make honeysuckle jelly. I might just use the surejel for blackberry jam instead if I can't get enough suckle blooms.
