The internet, something with all the information you could ever ask for has been turned into a device that people use to just validate their idiotic opinions.

 

That is something I have noticed living over here. There are a lot of people that think every country outside of the United States are uncivilized for the lack of a better word.

 

I looked at him and I said yes I'm sure some dude living a peaceful life in Norway with beautiful scenery and free healthcare is jealous of your beatup F150 and medical debt...he went back in his house.

 

Nearly 500K dead people globally and their families wish it was a hoax.

To be fair what Samoth mentioned about his parents neighbor, there is a great documentary that tackles that topic it's called The Brainwashing of my Dad. It's basically about how old people don't understand right wing media tactics and they get brainwashed into believing really stupid things, the person that made it documents it happening to her father.

 

I will say that I still feel that the majority of Americans are wonderful people. Including all you you guys!

Except for @AlexZ , he is not people.

 

Because many don't travel outside of the good ole USofA due to it's size.

I hosted my daughter and a bunch of her PhD classmates who were all from across the pond. They were at my house getting ready to go to Yosemite and mapping things out and one of them was all,
"It is so fucking big over here! How the hell do you get anywhere? I can drive as far as I'm driving today in the UK and be in a different COUNTRY!"

When I just moved over here the distances freaked me out too. If I drive for 3 hours south from my parents house, I am in Germany....and my parents live almost at the most northern point of Denmark.

 

I've been to Belize, Honduras, Cayman Islands, Mexico, Costa Rica and Jamaica..I enjoyed it.

 

I drive for 3 hours some directions and end up back in BFE. I love living in the sticks though. SO MUCH LAND.
