I guess I figured she wasn't around anymore... or had an unfortunate boating accident. I never cared much for her show, i just couldn't come up with a metaphor for butter usage. LOL

 

So Ive used a tens unit for awhile both to treat nerve damage in my leg and help with back pain. Decided to get a wireless one for my back so that it was easier for me to use when walking. This one like a lot of wireless ones has an app you can connect it to using bluetooth and use to control it which is great in my case since once it is on my back it will be difficult to reach the controls. It just arrived so I installed the app on my phone and as I'm reading through the manualand I see this.

121 lbs of aluminium cans sold for... 28c a pound. Not too shabby for passive income I guess.

 

Ah I remember those days. My grandma collected cans and we'd always save all of ours for her. My dad would bring a full truckload to the scrap yard and I was so disappointed with what she got back! Like how is this 8ft truck bed of cans only worth like 40 bucks??

Used to get 60 cents for aluminum cans. Nearly 4 bucks for copper wire. A buck per pound of unsorted circuit boards. And 15 cents per pound of iron like 10 years ago. That was nice.

Now the scrapyards around here are paying like 2 cents per pound of iron or something lousy. Not sure how it's worth it for the scrappers to drive around picking up stuff on garbage night anymore, but they do.

 

talked to her today at the yard: 10c pound for steel, 28c pound aluminum. 4 bucks per car battery.

such low pay. but the cans are pretty easy to save and stack in the barn./
