    OH! If you want to have a little extra fun, you can tell her you're going because the deep state thinks that china is constructing a 'rona transmitter on the summit which is why they closed the mountain for the season and you've been chosen to go blow it up with c4 and they're going to smuggle you into the country via a Wayfair cabinet return to the manufacturer.

    Made the decision to cancel my 40th birthday party/BBQ/barn party this year, because conspiracy theorist mother duckers opted not to wear a mask and believe in hokey stuff. If it were winter, they could harvest salt from me right now to plow the gosh darned roads.

    ETA: I self censored here. a lot. There's a lot of feelings right now, but I needed to vent at the water cooler as it were.

    Yeah, even with infections down, without a vaccine pretending everything is normal just isn't possible. That's how we got hit with the surge, that's how in like a month we're going to get another one because schools/colleges (probably mostly colleges, TBH). It doesn't matter how low your case numbers are, if you start acting like it's not a real thing anymore and we won, you're going to get hit with an outbreak.

    My county had 4 total infections yesterday. My daughter turns 5 tomorrow, are we going to have a party for her? Nope. I'm taking her to the library to get her library card and we're getting an appointment to go to the zoo and see the animals (socially distanced of course). Saturday we're having cupcakes and one family over from her daycare because they're BFFs and we're all in the same 'rona bubble anyway at this point.

    It sucks. But it's life, and wishing things could go back to normal doesn't actually do anything.

    The vaccine is going to be the end game here.
