He is doing this really weird duel thing where he is actually enlisted in the army Reserves while simotanously attending college and doing ROTC there. So he is doing drills and such with his reserve unit once a month and every summer while doing PT at 5 am every morning with ROTC, plus military classes and drills with ROTC. Problem is the army base and the ROTC do not communicate well together and can't agree wich is supposed to be supplying his uniforms etc... so he had to shuttle back and forth between the campus and base supply officers begging for a uniform till one of them got tired of seeing him and caved. It's a hot mess. His going to basic training was defered until January so he could start his first semester of college then just take the spring semester off so we still have that to look forward to.
