I don't know how many rejections you got, @Bob W , but I used the dispute feature a couple weeks ago to get 51 rejections reversed from a batch (not from a new requester), and it worked fine.

Just feel like commenting on this... harvesting is unlikely as there are much more efficient and *cheap* ways to get your email address.
Incompetence? That I can get behind and is actually likely the case here.

Definitely still use it! It can never hurt to reach out, and a polite ask can often do wonders. Best of luck!

 

You may be right. I always assume the worst. But my logic was they had all these details about people who would likely use their service, so it was a good way to get feedback as well as get potential customers when they officially launch.

But, I do put a lot of stock in never assuming malice when ignorance is a logical explanation.

 

I'm not sure what I did. It was a survey, so only a single rejection was involved.
All I'm remembering is that something about it felt particularly awkward, and that it was one of those
full-screen 'auto-submit' (maybe if you breathe on your screen) type HITs. On the other hand, I think
it was the appropriate time of day for me to have had one can of beer. So my legal defense is shot!

 

You could be right, but I would seriously pity them as $1 per email is insanely expensive. That would of course contribute to them being incompetent but in a different way lol

 

I just think it's a very strange way to do it. Especially as it's a survey directly about a service. Maybe they're doing it this way to prevent rejecting people, though they're also making mistakes there as lazy people aren't gonna wait, they're just gonna throw their mturk ID in there and submit lol.
