you can't request it. Mturk chooses chooses who gets the Masters qual. They choose like once or twice a year from what I remember and thats back when I paid attention to when they gave it out.

I got it after 3 years of turking and well over 100k hits done.

The honest answer is there is no rhyme or reason. Mturk hands it out super rarely and there is nothing you can do that we know of other than just keep working and hoping it happens some year.

 

uh not really haha but thank you! I am not new per se; I have 6k submitted but really wanted to know how to get Masters.

 

I have done 57,537 HITs with only 42 rejected. I still do not have masters.

 

am I really the only one that still has the pink bow?

 

there used to be 2 different kinds of masters. categorization masters and photo masters.
there is just only masters now

 

pretty sure I still have that 1. they pulled my photo masters and gave me the overall masters. they haven't given out photo masters and categorization masters in at least 7 years iirc.

 

Well, I still have it in my Pending Qualifications..

 

So who do I contact to get that qualification removed from Pending? Just wondering..

yea they handled that transition like everything else. half-assed by an intern or something.
requesters can still use cat masters and there are still people with it but it definitely hasnt been given out in 7 years like turker said. so if requesters use it theres a good chance their pool of available workers is like 5

 

There's no reason to. It doesn't make a difference either way. Half of one, six dozen of the other, if you will.

 

how many hits have you done, pretty sure you said you've been doing mostly or all surveys so far, how long have you had an mturk account and how long have you been actively/consistently using it? how many rejections do you have?

get the script that tells you how many hits you can do without dropping below 99% approval rate. never have more pending hits than will drop you below 99% approved. that's priority #1. check both TV and TO for reviews of every single requester you are considering doing their hits, before you do the hit.

I seriously still get hits based on that qual. it's become so rare, I don't remember it happening in the last year, but I haven't been paying as much attention to that kind of thing in 2020.
