A doctor told him he had cirrosis of the liver back in the spring...he's been a functioning alcoholic for a long time. He supposedly cut back on drinking but didn't stop...our families don't get a long great so I see him rarely last time I saw him he looked like he was 80lbs lighter, he got covid back then too....

He's in the hospital on life support and dialysis, his liver condition is making his kidneys not work...he's basically going to die because he refused to stop drinking, my older kids are taking it harder than the younger ones because the older ones weren't around for our falling out where the younger ones grew to not like him over the past few years when they found out some of his views...so it's an odd dynamic.

 

I feel like I can't turk today, like my brain is frozen

That's how I lost my mom. There is no helping someone who wont help themselves quit. Don't be shocked when he starts seeing things that aren't there or talking giberish. It's not a fun thing to watch happen when they stop doing dialysis and they deteriorate from there. Get them to explain their will and what they want done with their stuff now while they still can. My mom was too far gone to explain what was to be done with her stuff due to all the toxins in her blood.

 

To be fair he doesn't have much, he's going to leave his wife hosed with bills she can't pay. He's like 54...
