No no no! I have a solution!
Take wood glue and tooth picks. You slather the tooth picks in wood glue and jam them into the new hole that has opened up. You hammer in glued tooth picks until the whole can't fit any more. Then hammer a few more in. THEN you take the nails from the gutter WITH the gutter and nail them back into the facia plating. That's how we've kept our gutters up for mega cheapo. It lasts for around a year to 3 depending on the weather.
