That question was mostly a joke but yes I am a little lost when it comes to the myriad of settings and such. how how can I quickly add a panda or... even should I since QBC has a mind of its own?

You can drag and drop a panda link and it will pop up the add panda dialog box. And yes even though it will find and create pandas for you, there are times where you will want to create your own.
