Oh clearly it would never get to court because those doing the DMCA strike downs have the money to destroy any streamers in courts, but I'm saying they probably have no interest in developing the bots cause it's not actually an issue. Doesn't prevent any sales, and has a fair chance of popularizing the music.

There is an argument to be made about streaming some content (like streaming a mystery game that is "ruined" once you know the ending, or streaming a concert, taking away the need to buy tickets), but music during a normal gaming livestream or while playing a beat saber game is a non-issue in my opinion (though the nuking of videos is understandable, despite being annoying).

 

Wasn't it proven that downloading music increased CD sales and yet 80% of Twitch viewers have never heard of Napster anyway?

 

There will always be a black market.

I believe it was shown that game piracy increases sales (as many people might consider it a "free demo" or through simply recommending the game to friends). Not sure about music, but I think I remember reading about it in a video game context.
