Hi All,

I just started turking again after taking about a year off. I noticed a lot of the surveys require CR Research Group #1 >= 100. Is there anyway to request qualification for that? Seems like that's a main requirement for a lot of surveys nowadays.

That is a qual for "Cloud Research". You may remember it as "Turk Prime". It was renamed. You get that qual by answering the 3 questions at the bottom of the hit form. Answer as many different ones as you can as you are working on HITs. When they have enough demographic data for you, if they want your demo survey result, they'll assign you the qual.

I believe the issue has been resolved. I can assure you that it is not an easy choice to make a rejection. We researchers are quite aware of the impact it can have on participants. The other side of that token is the impact data quality has on research. Particularly when the outcomes of the research are important, researchers are responsible to take great care to ensure that the data is of the highest quality. Thank you for your quality response.



In response to your concerns about time, the average was more than 26 minutes. The average for Master workers was 35 minutes. Also, less than 5% of the participants were originally rejected for speed. I understand that you may be able to take the survey quickly and maintain quality, however it is difficult to discern that on the other side. Those that simply rush and provide a low quality response often look similar. So I hope you can appreciate the dilemma. Our two greatest priorities are 1) be fair to the participants and 2) ensure high quality data. Both are necessary for good science. Thank you for your patience as this matter was resolved.

I got the same sort of rejection for a hit that they said took 25 min (it took me 20 to do) I made sure to email them and contest it. They overturned it. It was a $4 hit! Like ffs 5 min? I can get it when I did something wrong but for 5 min slower???? get bent.

 

I sent one short very nice professional email. This is his 2nd reply! I'm like please stop talking to me your a loon at this point.
