Yeah, I have it here. They aren't allowed to do that crap at Prolific, that stuff is disabled for them there.

 

My point is that Prolific is the exact same at the restriction level, but naturally worse because they have more total control.

They openly go to conferences and mock out how they throttle how many studies you're allowed into, and worse their TOS state if you don't earn enough your funds can be forfeit, except they're the ones who can turn off your access to seeing new work so how the actual fuck is that okay?

Toss in the higher fees (which means they take more money out of your pocket), the absolutely nutjob levels of information they want to grab about you and that they do not store securely (at one point proflici would leak your ENTIRE demographic profile to a researcher even if their study only required your gender). I mean fuck Prolific went and just straight up posted the ids of hundreds of people with their demographics publicly exposed just a few weeks ago so they could shit on MTurk lmao.

And the 30,000 other things that are "actually evil" instead of just bumbling idiocy (MTurk) I'd toss hate at Prolific more than TP

I mean it's also fine to hate both or everyone because at this point yeah everyone sucks but was just surprised you liked them because functionally they're way worse than TP lol.

 

CT literally suggested that Prolific was more worth boycotting than any other aspect of this workspace, and I quoted him asking why. Nobody responded so I asked again.

 

Didn't that CEO also do a article or something that caused panic with requesters about bots and vpns which is now why we have attention checks from hell?

 

No it isn't, it just isn't built into the requester UI because Prolific is abstracting it all away so requesters (and apparently workers) don't know exactly how shitty they are

I understand what you're saying. I agree with the part about them throttling our work because I've seen it first hand over recent weeks. The bumbling idiocy of MTurk allows TurkPrime to unfairly block good workers. I didn't know there was like a war between Prolific and MTurk wow.

 

Well then CloudResearch is lying because that came from a page of theirs whining about it.
