Not sure why you all were having so many issues with Olab. We must have had different HITs. I did the Korean HIT early this afternoon and everything went smoothly. Even got the stated bonus just a few moments ago.

 

I did that one the other day. The newest one has you listening to garbled nonsense trying to decipher what they're saying over static and the wording of the instructions regarding payment was worded strange. The Korean version was so much easier!

I actually didn't mind the OLab hit.. I thought it was pretty quick and easy. The first 30 audio clips were more difficult to hear but the last 30 were pretty easy. Pretty sure I got at least 50 clips correct, so should be a pretty good bonus at .03 per word

My problems with it was there was an initial calibration tone that didn't play anything, I just proceeded anyway, and after completing the hit it just loaded a blank page and MTurk said it wasn't able to submit, so I had to do it over. I'm chalking that up to doing the hit in QBC instead of chrome.. I usually load these kinds of hits with their own interfaces in Chrome just in case

 

Just sent a thank you note to requester that was thoughtful enough to include "Parent of an adult 18+" in their demographic questions.

 

The sound needs to be turned up to 75% + during calibration portion. I was able to do the HIT in chrome without any issue. I enjoyed both of their hits.

 

They gave the bonus already.

My calibration tone didn't play anything either. I just continued past it and did my best. The first half was hard to understand but the second half was a whiz. I just got my bonus at $7.02

Yeah I completely maxed my sound and I also have an external sound mixer where I turned the gain knob to full, and nothing... verified my sound was fine. The following page was the 3 tone test and that was fine, but the initial 75% thing didn't play at all - in QBC or Chrome

Just got my bonus also for this hit - $6.57

 

Probably woulda gotten a slightly higher bonus on that but I thought it was only bonus per correct sentence (When it said "Correct!") I didn't realize it was per word.. so if I didn't understand the whole thing I didn't type any of the words.. doh

 

There seems to be a bit of natural ability to this kind of thing but like with most similar stuff, it improves with practice... most people that are good at shooters its bc they spend an ungodly amount of time practicing and internalizing the motions. Its just like learning to type or playing an instrument
