Alrighty fuck this planet.. here is my current situation:

• Random dog barking out ni the woods behind my house
• Finally drive car to see wtf is up
• Dog is not stuck, but no moving
• Minor bleeding from snout, cannot tell why s/he isn't moving
• Not aggressive (no more barking, let me get close enough ~4ft to hand off water bowl) but also no collar/tags

What the ever living fuck do I do with this? I can't risk getting too close to a (presumably wild? ? ?) injured animal but it's also middle of the fucking night so not like I can just call the humane society?? Anyone have any clue wtf do to here? She's not even technically on my property and ofc google is giving me nothing but "WHO DO WE SUE IF [X/Y/Z] TANGENTIALLY RELATED BUT NOT EVEN CLOSE SITUATION ARISES" garbage 32r8hu28qd3u8qsu

Is there any kind of animal rescue organization in your area? Maybe the humane society has an emergency number. I know it's dark, but if you can snap a relatively clear picture you could post it on Nextdoor or Facebook. Just get the word out somehow that there's an injured dog near your property. Hopefully someone who's equipped to deal with this will step up. You might not be able to do anything tonight. Thank goodness it's not freezing cold. If nothing else maybe make sure the dog has water and maybe even some kibble if you have some, a blanket if it seems like the dog might be in shock.

 

Contractor spotlight or big flashlight, big blanket, usually rescue organizations have an emergency 24 hour number. Take picture, post on socials (area message boards). If can't get anyone raised through those leave a blanket, water, some kibble.

Yeah, that's a good idea @ChrisTurk. If I remember correctly you're in a small community, but find the number for the nearest 24 hour vet and call them. Tell them what's up. They might at least know of someone who will come and check out the situation.

Both of these helped me get help for a wayward pup. nextdoor.com and pawboost.com Rescue people are in these groups. You will get good advice, even at this hour, if you are not way rural. @ChrisTurk
