    Serious Q for the December babies. My friend is due on 12/22. She & her husband were concerned about the holidays overshadowing the birthday or if that is even a problem. What have been your experiences with this? Any tips?

    Being completely honest I hate my birthday. Being that it falls on New Years Eve doing normal things like having a party are almost impossible unless I plan it out months in advance. And now with having kids if the misses and I want to go out for a date that night it's damn near impossible to find a reliable baby sitter. The last few years I haven't really done anything special for my birthday.

    Thanks for the honesty! In the other informal polls I've taken about this, it seems to be a real mixed bag of good & bad with the holiday/close to holiday birthdays.

    I don't remember it ever being a problem for me but we didn't really do much for birthdays anyway. A few gifts, a cake, and had some family over. I never (nor did my sister who was born in April) ever get to have a real birthday party because we were pretty poor. When my sisters birthday came along in April, I got a few gifts then too but I'm not really sure why because I feel like I always got an average amount of birthday gifts during my own birthday.

    Mines on the 9th and my moms is the 21st. We both hate them. It's cold so you can't do anything outdoors on your birthday and everyone is broke leading into Christmas lol.
