We are banned by our Governor from enforcing masking in schools and they made it a FERPA violation to inform people of exposure. Some districts are defying her but this rural area is not one I personally notified the cheer and dance coaches and the teacher who is at risk myself.

We're banned from masks also, but thankfully the TEA changed their tone and the schools ARE required to report cases to parents, but there's no funding for virtual learning thanks to gov useless, so there's not much that can be done at this point besides my kid being as proactive as possible.

I hate people

 

So this is a long winded post, so kudos to those who read and can tell me what the heck happened....

Last year we started looking for a contractor, landscaper, excavation company, ANYONE, to dig a hole....for a swimming pond. A quite simple 23'x20' hole 5 foot deep.

We found someone this past May after about 12 people told me no.

Well he told me we would have to wait for ground to be dry due to us not getting along with our neighbors on the side of the yard where he will need to come in from.

Well it has rained all summer long here, so fast forward from May, we are in September.... On August 20th he told me he would probably be around the following week to dig the said hole.

Here is where it gets a bit funky, it so happens this guy lives in the same neighborhood as me. We are in an HOA, and I am on the board. The addition does not allow sheds. We worked really hard a few years back to get rid of the last few sheds that the prior board did not go after to be removed. Well on my phone call on the 20th with him, he brought up sheds and how him and some neighbors would like sheds. I was nice but firm on the fact that they are not allowed (due to covenants, and you can't pick and choose which covenants to enforce)...I told him we do however allow people to add an addition that is attached on to their home sided and roofed the same.

Could our conversation about sheds of ruined my chances at my hole being dug? Did he think this was a you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours?

well it gets even more scary, I applied to the city for a grant, for rip rap to be done around a pond in the neighborhood where it's eroding.....guess who won the bid....him....

I have a signed three way contract with the city, hoa, and partnership. I sure as hell hope he don't back out on this, we got a grant for $16K to get it done.
