I'm not sure what you mean by fake screeners here, that sounds like a pretty normal screening process to me, but maybe i'm misunderstanding something. But generally, yeah you should not reveal survey content or ways to cheat a screener in return reviews because it will invalidate the data the researcher is looking for. Requesters don't and shouldn't advertise all screening criteria because people will inevitably lie to pretend to fit the required demographics, so screeners are a really good way to make sure the req is getting the data they're paying for and can use, while not taking up too much time from the respondents.

 

Many requesters do unpaid screeners because if they put who they are looking for (in this case only people who would cheat on their spouses) people may lie in order to take the survey. This would give them data that is dishonest and can hurt their research. In an ideal world all requesters would do paid screeners ahead of time. Luckily most requesters will put the screeners at the beginning of the survey or will clearly state that there is an unpaid screener. If you are spending a long time on a survey before being screened out (more than a minute or 2) you can put that in your return review but I wouldn't recommend putting what you were screened out for because that might cause other people to lie on the screener.

You've been turking for a while, but you don't know what fake screeners are? Well, okay, I can explain.
A screener is when an interviewer wants to only interview certain types of people, so they create a screener, it's like a survey prior to being accepted to taking a survey. However, surveyors abuse this by creating fake screeners, (a way to collect tons of information for free, whilst paying the turker absolutely nothing, even though they said they would. These fake screeners are fake because they include a screener and the entire survey, yet claim at the end of them that "they didn't need your input." But really, they just wanted you to do the entire survey without having to pay you. In the real workforce, this would be considered worker abuse, and the surveyors would be sued, and shut down rather quickly. However on the turker sites, they persist with their abuse.

 

I wasn't asking for advice on what unpaid screeners are, or how to review, or how to return anything. I was asking what people's thoughts are on the fake screeners who cheat me, and many other turkers through their fake screeners.

 

"Luckily most requesters will put the screeners at the beginning of the survey or will clearly state that there is an unpaid screener." I wasn't refering to this at all, and yes, the fake screeners will mention that they have an unpaid screener, as a way to sidestep the rule where they agree to pay you, through pretending the entire survey is a screener.
