definitely not wanting to fight. you seem very judgemental and very set on how other people can appropriately express grief and outrage. i'm more ashamed that I wasn't the first to make the joke now (I really appreciate the link). I can't speak for him but being obnoxious and outrageous is my way of dealing with life in general otherwise I'd be a sad sack of shit all the time.

instead of deleting my post pretend I just said something you'd consider an appropriate emotion and expressed it in a way you aren't offended. I mean, you do get that we're both "anti-killing children", right? Because if that's not obvious, I want you to understand that I'm against killing innocent people (regardless of age). OK?

Same here... I don't think I missed anything but I could have oh well hopefully it works out and if I did miss something they send a link to do it.

 

I'm not chastising you for your emotional reaction, for the record. Joking about someone's death to grieve them is a common and valid reaction. I'm only talking about how we express ourselves publicly and whether or not it shows any empathy for those around who may be more directly involved (someone upthread is where this happened, for example, and may have lost friends.)

We're all free to make our own choices, but we're also free to criticize the choices of others, especially when it's a public/open discourse. And no, I didn't consider it a fight. Sometimes people are accidentally hurtful and so pointing it out to them lets them make more informed choices. Maybe not better, but at least more informed.

I didn't realize there was someone from that area present.

I am tasteless and I can't change that but I really should have read everything before I said anything, then maybe I wouldn't have. If I've made anyone uncomfortable with my remarks, I apologize for doing so. I wasn't trying to be hurtful. Being obnoxious really is how I try to "fix things". It's probably why I don't socialize.

Oh and the people who don't realize it... The difference between my mug that is shaped like a measuring cup and an actual measuring cup is two things.

One the glass that it is using is a much better glass and the second thing is that the lip around the edge is rounded so that it is easier to drink from like a normal cup.

Yes those are the only two differences outside of the handle but it is also cool so haters gonna hate.
