I had a Telegram account and it required phone to set up. I never commented on it, just read it. Then started getting spam texts.... closed out the account but I still get a few about time shares... I don't even have a timeshare. Block one number, they use another.

 

Did you look at it at all? I did a survey from SQ@R yesterday that asked for my email and I was like whatever. It sent me a bunch and I think it's going to send me weekly emails regarding the program it was testing. Shouldn't have given my email at all. Ugh.

 

It was just like the first one with a link to the study outside of mturk but I didn't click the link. What bothers me the most is that I didn't even give him my email add and yet somehow he still got it from Amazon.

You know that NAVY stands for Never Again Volunteer Yourself, right?

On a serious note, I don't think anyone needs your social, including a survey sponsored by the Navy. And FWIW, security screenings are not that intrusive. They would be more worried about him, than anyone one else.

 

i know now with the changes to the self employment and such that anything over $600 has to be reported. granted....$40 aint even close but i can see them trying to cover their ass by making a one size fits all consent form with that plastered on it

 

I guess that is possible. Seems like it is still a violation of the TOS. Lets just hope it doesn't turn out to be a scam for those who may have given it up.

Pro-tip: Be cautious with those 85% approval requesters. Even if they've settled down, it shows a clear history of major rejection rates. I could be over-paranoid about my precious approval rating, but I still find "better safe than sorry" working out better than "YOLO".
