Why is it that by the time I get a study show up on Prolific there's only a couple slots left? Why doesn't it pop up as it's posted?

Firstly, sorry for the inconvenience!

Secondly, this happens when participants return their submissions. They leave the study and the place is reopened, so the study is sent out again but with only 1 or 2 places available. So, when you go to enter the study, the spot could already be filled.

Also, we encourage researchers to run pilot studies to make sure their study is working properly. Pilot studies are only sent out to a handful of people, so these get filled up quickly too.

When it comes to distributing studies evenly, our primary tool is something called adaptive rate limiting. In essence, when the number of active participants is high relative to the number of study places available, we give priority access to participants who've spent less time taking studies recently. When studies are filling particularly slowly, we then loosen the limits and let our more 'prolific' survey takers work their magic.

why if I don't catch a remesh, I put it in my tracker for 15 minutes... remesh timers between release and HIT are 15 minutes so your just wasting space in your catcher after that

I don't use it regularly but have through links from artist time to time. They just want a google or facebook connect to spotify. I'd listen to it for an hour tonight and the try to catch it next week

 

I think its probably more our actual data rather than anything about music.

Remesh catching doesn't work like that. If you dont catch it when it first pops you won't catch it... unless somebody happens to return one. You just gotta be lucky quick

 

RID watchers with no cap will remain on until manually intervened.

Remesh has such a short expiry though, default settings thinks you might have a chance to catch it!

 

So when you get that "Please wait while we redirect you..." after the fashion images screen it's good to submit the code?

Support was helping me for a bit earlier but they closed it now and they haven't come back yet.

 

if you just finished the fashion part and got the code from the other site YES! but that chat box is them and they even forwarded me an email of the convo after I'd submitted the HIT.
